Overland Park, KS —9/9/25 — Real Overland Park proudly announces Jorge Torres as the club’s new owner ahead of the 2026 Select League season. With deep roots in the game, extensive financial expertise, and a passion for community development, Torres brings a unique blend of soccer knowledge and business acumen that will help guide the club into a new era.
Torres’ soccer journey began at the age of 10, playing alongside his older brothers and quickly developing a natural talent for the game. His playing career spans youth and amateur leagues, the Oklahoma State Olympic Development Program, and time with clubs including the Kansas City Wizards (MLS), Minnesota Thunder, Colorado Foxes, and El Paso Patriots of the A-League (now USL). Torres’ experience also includes training opportunities with professional sides such as the Mexican First Division’s Cobras of Juarez.
“I’ve spent a lifetime in soccer, from youth to semi-pro to the professional ranks, and now this is a chance to give back,” said Torres. “What excites me most about owning Real Overland Park is the opportunity to positively impact amateur players and the community. My vision is to create a strong culture of family, athlete, and community that will help the club grow both on and off the pitch.”
With a career in finance, Torres is well prepared for the challenges of club ownership. He emphasizes efficient organization, financial planning, and strategic networking as key elements for the club’s success. His immediate goals include building community connections, attracting talented players, and ultimately competing for a Select League title.
“I want Real Overland Park to be a place where players not only develop athletically but also grow as people,” Torres added. “We’re open to all interested players ages 16 and up who want to be part of something meaningful. With consistency, culture, and community involvement, I believe the fanbase and support will grow naturally here in Overland Park.”
Kansas City Association Football Federation (KCAFF) President Brandon Fisher expressed his excitement about Torres’ appointment:
“Jorge will do so much for Real Overland Park. I think you’re going to see the club really flourish and grow under his ownership. With our league’s focus on community for 2026, I think Jorge’s connections and business prowess will really start seeing the club as part of the identity of Overland Park.”
As Real Overland Park enters this new chapter, Torres is determined to combine his passion for the game, financial leadership, and community commitment to build a sustainable and competitive future for the club.
